The death of WiMAX?

On 8 January 2009, Nokia announced the discontinuation of N810 WiMAX Edition Internet Tablet, and market are reading that this non-phone non-PDA monstrosity as a failure of the initial WiMAX technology. WiMAX technology is notably in South Korea (the "WiBro"). However, in the rest of world, WiMAX is yet to be supported

In Hong Kong, licenses for use of spectrum for wireless broadband "WiBB", (or "BWA", broadband wireless access) has been awarded to network service providers, three providers took the spectrum from 2.5GHz to 2.69Ghz. However, the spectrum profile for WiMAX in Hong Kong, 2.3GHz, was not interested by any providers.

Coincidence? Who knows.
