We're asked a couple of question regarding the background wallpaper of Samsung F480 Tocco.

Q: How to change the screensaver wallpaper for Samsung Tocco?
- No, you can't do that. No, we're not kidding.

Q: Okay, so how to change the background wallpaper for Samsung Tocco?
- Drag the widget out and choose, you can pick to use your own pictures as background too. If you don't see the widget, enable it in settings.

i just bought it yesterday and i hate the boring scenic photos of the beach and wanna change it to photos of my taste and i cant, please program it to do it so i can figure it out change it

I found this stupid too. Unless they change in any future ROM releases, we can't do anything on it. Samsung phone is waaaay more difficult to hack than LG. Sorry guys.

maybe i'm not understanding your problem correctly.. but you CAn change the wallpaper...
go to your files>images>my photos>, then choose one of your photos and options>set as>wallpaper. personalizing the wallpaper is such a basic function.. of course it's available...

one thing i do find really dumb though is that you can only set photos that are upright. in other words, if you need to rotate your phone to view the image, it will set it in that direction for the wallpaper... you can rotate the image and save it, then try setting as wallpaper again, but it will still be set as sideways.. so annoying.

I have discovered that by dialling *#03# into the dialling screen, and pressing # several times, you can access several editing features of the Tocco such as "Debug Screen" and "Read gsm rf nv" etc. Being no expert, I am worried that I will mess my phone up if I alter these, so I am passing this information onto anyone else who may be able to use these features to perhaps allow the changing of screensaver or anything else useful.

Thanks for your comment Michael. While it's known that *#03# can modify a number of phone attributes, it can potentially harm the phone or even brick the phone in extremely cases, so irrevocable that even re-flashing the ROM cannot recover. Even users are brave enough, they should proceed with extreme care.

so really in the end no one figured out how to change the wallpaper that is set once you have pressed the hold button. And everyone stop saying menu>my files>images>select image>set as wallpaper. that is not answering my question.

Dear anonymous user, you are referring to SCREENSAVER, which is IMPOSSIBLE to change - unless there are experts who are willing to brick their phone in hope of modifying the official ROMs.

Anybody know what size is ideal for wallpaper pics? I keep trying to set pictures as my wallpaper which then get cut off cause they're too big. I can't find anywhere that tells me what to re-size them to. Help?

To extend the ring tone you need to call your service provider and depending on who you go through it can be extended to 30 or 45 seconds

thats stupid that u cant change screensavers, what if u changed the theme, would that get rid of the screensavers and change them into whatever the theme is?

There's no way of getting the image files of the screensaver - Samsung machines are more difficult to hack then LG's.

And sorry, screensavers cannot be changed, unless Samsung is willing to release a new firmware for Tocco dedicate for that, which I doubt.

i find it rather annoying that you cant rotate the pictures that needs to be sorted out and also the screen savers are ever so boring and are not attractive in any way at all. i know its not possible for these to be changed but can you please contact Samsung and ask them what is happening also you should be able to download new widgets.

It's quite ridiculous that Samsung won't allow us to change the Screensaver. But would it be possible to change the screensavers by hacking? Like the way you hack the phone to put games on? Would that way work?

In short, no. It's likely that Samsung will launch a new model capable of changing screensaver though, but you have to be prepared to spend a few hundre more bucks than your current Tocco F480.

We have no Samsung phones in stock now and we cannot test further as of now.

i got a samsung tocco f480 for christmas and it let me change the screensaver as well as the background on the menu.. but then someone stole it so i had to get another samsung tocco f480 off ebay, & this one won't let me change the screen saver or menu background. the layout is different i dont understand though if its the same phone model? :-S

then go set details at the bottom n then u can chose ur own melody to add in

Hi i have a samsung tocco lite gt-s5230 my problem is a photo i want as my wallpaper will not fill the screen it limits me to a certain size 320x240 and if i increase this by customizing it only shows a part of the picture help!! steve
